I am an Urban planner working in Hong Kong

• How much do you know about climate change?

I have a deep understanding of how our urban space can affect the impact of climate change. Climate conditions of the place can affect how I design, it is my profession to consider how climate changes will affect the urban conditions.

• Do you care about climate change and why?

Yes. One of my jobs as an urban planner is to consider how climate change can affect the living conditions of the citizens. I am also very aware of the new sustainable design that can be applied to my planning scheme. One of my career goals is to make Hong Kong a green city.

The government should establish suitable and efficient policies and regulations to deal with climate change. Solar power panels the installed on the roof and facades of the high-rise building in Hong Kong. The government should make good use of the existing urban condition and transform it into a more energy-efficient and green space.

As an urban planner, it is my duty to improve the urban spaces. I see the threats of climate change to our urban living conditions, China’s Haze and smog problems are examples of how overly developed factories can be brought to a city overall and I think a lot of old urban designs did not consider enough climate changes. Now it is the time for a new generation of urban planners to rebuild our city.
